Arts Festival

Ages 8-15

Summer Arts at the Cambridge School of Weston is a five weeks comprehensive multi-arts program. What does multi-arts mean? It means we offer courses in all of the visual & performing arts, textiles, media, culinary arts, sports, writing, Red Cross swim instruction, and music. Students pick their own classes and after an “add/drop” opportunity, they follow the same schedule daily. Every day from 12:30-1:00 pm Summer Arts gathers in the theater for the daily Noontime Show. The cornerstone of this multi-arts model, Noontime Shows feature performances from classes, individual students, staff and guest artists. Performances range from rock band, poetry readings, visual arts parades, stand up comedy, dance, stage monologues and musical theatre numbers. In addition to giving students opportunities to perform, Noontime Shows provides exposure to a wide range of creative expression, nurturing a life long appreciation for the arts.

The culmination of the five-week program is Arts Festival, a celebration showcasing all of the work generated throughout the 5 weeks. A dance concert, art gallery showings, musical recitals, fashion shows, vocal performances and more grace this special day which is open to families and the public at large. A fully produced musical theatre production will be performed the night before and the night of the Arts Festival.
