We are very fortunate to have Zoe Sundra work for the last three years at Summer Arts where she has been director of the Textiles Department. Zoe teaches Fashion Design, Costumes, Wearable Art and Soft Monsters.
Since the age of fifteen Zoe has had a passion for sewing and textiles. She grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design where she studied Fibers and Performance Art. Zoe has recently been costuming and designing at Boston Arts Academy and the Wheelock Family Theatre.
Zoe fits right in to our multi-arts community with her many talents. In addition to textiles she is a wonderful singer and songwriter. Zoe has toured nationally and internationally, and released her fourth album "Bodies of Water" in January 2016. She is also an outdoor enthusiast spending a year as a guide on the Mississippi River and enjoying biking around Massachusetts.
Zoe is a fantastic teacher. She is thoughtful and passionate, connecting with her students and helping them explore their creativity. Her enthusiasm, positive energy and passion for textiles, makes her classes challenging, exciting and fun. At the Arts Festival there is a fashion show where we get to see the remarkable work the kids have created over a three week session. Zoe brings SO much to the Summer Arts community and we look forward to having her back!
