Highlight: Associate Director, Tina Johnson

Summer Arts officially opened for season 2016 on Wednesday, December 2nd and already we have people enrolling! I have been in touch with the staff and am excited to hear about new class ideas for the upcoming summer. This month I am highlighting Associate Director, Tina Johnson.

Summer Arts at CSW is Tina’s fourth arts program! She started out at The Park School in Brookline, where she ran the drama department for years. Tina then founded a similar arts program in Portland, Maine where she was the director for four years.  After training someone to take over, Tina moved back to Massachusetts and came to work with me at the Charles River Creative Arts Program in Dover.  The rest is history: we both came to CSW in 2010 to launch Summer Arts. I guess you could say that Tina really believes in and loves this  multi-arts model!

In addition to administrating Summer Arts, Tina is a stage director. She has founded youth musical theater companies in Florida, Maine and Massachusetts. She now works for The Freelance Players, Inc. and twice a year her musical theatre troupe  (ages 8-12) performs in Dover.

Also, some of you may not know that Tina volunteers in Haiti; she provides support to needy communities and has made a number of trips over the last few years, visiting different towns and cities, delivering goods and serving as guide and translator for Americans.

Looking forward to ringing that cowbell!
